So, I’ve decided to offer these two as a set. They really do go great together! Here they are-Ships in Bluebird Cages and The Very Reluctant Farewell And now that I look at them, they seem to be a bit of a sign of the crist fall months ahead. I know its hard to imagine …

The Very Reluctant Farewell print
The painting to compliment Ships in Bluebird Cages is complete and I am ever-so-happy with it! Still quite large (for me) it measures 16″ by 20″ and is painted in acrylics on canvas with a flowery paper collage background. A girl in a pastorial setting says goodbye to the cardinals as they sail away one-by-one …
ETSY MAIL
Look what arrived! A print from Oh My Cavalier! Julianna’s art is so beautifully delicate and victorian-inspired, I am in awe! I will be in a search for the perfect antique frame to compliment this print. Also, her package was stuffed with surprises… You can get prints and other goodies at the Oh My Cavalier …
Monday’s Whimsy
Gosh, how did this happen? Never before was I under the spell of pink until I acquired this beautiful vintage sheet during a thrifting spree. It was a little wrinkled gem staring at me amongst a stack of shabby, faded linens. I think it was the rose motif that got me. It makes the most …
Early Morning Meadow
Sometimes being outdoors is just what I need to recharge. The other day I was quite perplexed. I literally started to entwine ivy in my hair (its better than twirling the hair around my fingers I guess). I had this idea…I wanted to do a self-portrait photo shoot of sorts. I kept twisting and snapping, …
A new painting
Lets see, what I have been spending my time on… I just finished my painting Ships in Bluebird Cages I am so completely happy with it. It is much larger for me (16″ by 20″) and I am working at a slower pace. I have been longing to paint more detailed scenes as of late …
vintage and henna
I spent my weekend outdoors, half of it by the sea painting henna beside the quaint porch of the fabulous Kitch and Kaboodle vintage store. The porch is stashed with so many treasures, including a rack of colorful prairie dresses and a pink fridge! I came home with lots of treasures. I bought some oddities …
pretty things and a sketch
We went to Philadelphia yesterday. Lots of exploring the city’s quaint alleyways, yummy food and vintage shopping. I picked up the most rustic pair of pointy-toed wooden shoes. I have a plans to make them into something wonderful and whimsical, an art piece of sorts… but for now, they rest on my cluttered little shelf …
My Favorite at the MoMA
Yesterday I ventured into New York to visit the Museum of Modern Art. I was excited to view the Prints and Illustrated Books Galleries, especially this by Kiki Smith. This display case drew me in right away! A bunch of strange little gems…In it was a few Joseph Cornell boxes, a Frida, among others… And …
Blackberry Breakfast
My latest find is the most perfect tea cup for me. A sepia ship adorns the side of the tea cup and the saucer as well. I drink iced tea in the summer so I decided to use it as a dish for blackberries.
