What’s that you see? Is it a fox locket?…..
yes indeed! I decided to do this giveaway again, to thank all those who visit my blog (despite my times of non-postings). And for keeping me inspired! THANK YOU!!!!
It’s a mini print snippet from my original oil painting Pulling on Our Ribbons and Hair affixed to the front of a golden vintage locket. The fox is covered in a shiny, UV varnish to protect it from the elements. And inside the locket, there are two mini prints from the same painting as well (girls this time!)
The locket will string around your neck with a muted gold velvet ribbon.
To enter just give Mr. Fox a first name (and last if you’d like!!) in the comments here. On Saturday, July 25th I will pull a name for Mr. Fox out of my hat. If it’s you the locket is yours!
And now, we are off to the beautiful green mountains of Vermont!
how about mr. K. Readwhether?
Oh my, Sarah….You are just so incredibly talented. This is gorgeous and if I were naming Mr. fox….I would name him “velvet”. Just seems right…:) I hope you have a wonderful time in Vermont and thank you for your sweet comment on ML. It made my day!
xo
Melis
I shall call him Andrew.
Ive been thinking about about foxes lately. What a fun coincidence!
gasp! Pulling on Our Ribbons and Hair is one of my favorite paintings that you have created!
For his name, how about Mr. Wardley Fox? ๐
I am sorry but this Fox has to be the dear Mr. TROT. Mister Fox Trot !

___mathyld___
I think he should be called….Fitzwilliam Fox! Like Mr Darcy ๐ sounds dashing!
That locket is the sweetest! count me in!~
Todd St. James the Furred
I would call him Clive. ๐
Being Swedish there is really only one name I can give him, so you will have to forgive me if I don’t invent one. I don’t know if you have a template name for foxes in American stories, but in Sweden it’s Mickel Rรยคv. (Rรยคv being the Swedish word for fox.) So, Mickel it is.
Although I must say, I liked Todd St. James. ๐
Once in a while while traveling to our old cottage in Missouri, we see a red fox playing รขโฌโ one time with its two baby cubs รขโฌโ just off the road near a creek, at dusk. We always watch for them. Your beautiful fox reminded me of that joy.
“Old Sock” (crafty, but soft and favored)
Oh, how lovely! I would name him Rustin on account of his rusty fur. ๐
i like Mr Mon the Fox … ๐
and i like your work too.
My vote is for an English, romantic, whimsical name like Russet.
Hi There
Just want you to know that I have left my art for many years, but since I have been researching different artists I came across your site, and I have to say you have totally inspired me to get back in to it all, so much so that I have now started to draw and paint again.
I have been looking at your blog and love the work you do. I adore your fox, and love the way you have put it on a locket, so the name I would give Mr Fox is…….Frederick Camball-Scadding, I wanted to pick a very English name, as he looks very upper class, with his sleek look and rich colouring.
Whip Fonblanque.
The wily Whip remain’d
A subtle pilf’ring Foe,
prowling around
In Midnight Shades
I think a group of foxes is called a skulk or a whip, so that’s the first name, + Fonblanque is ones of the names listed in the OED as a citation under the entry for fox, n.
How about Maple. As in Maple Syrup
I think his name should be Simon.
Todd (which is derived from the Middle English “todde,” meaning fox).
What a beautiful locket! I think Mr. Vincent Fox should be his name…
Sir Mortimer Fox is a dashing, handsome fellow indeed!
i would name him either ferdinand or marsh. i adore your work!!! everything about your blog is so inspiring! xo
SUCH a darling locket! And that gamboling little foxy should (in my ‘umble opion) be christined… Mr. Blackpaw Merriweather!
I like Rupert Fox myself :).
Oh, what a lovely locket, and a lovely gentleman fox! I think he looks like a Frederick Fox-Finching. Very proper, indeed! He looks a curious fox, doesn’t he?
Hi , I love your stuff, so inspiring. What about :
Tokala
It is a native american ( dakota) meaning for fox .
Great work keep it up!
-Athina
I love this little guy! He seems like a Neville to me.
Adorable locket!
I do believe he looks like a Mr. Fennerick Crevan to me. (Crevan being the Irish name for fox & I have just always loved the name Fennerick for these furry little guys.)
Your work and your vision are so inspiring. Thank you for brightening the world.
~Michele
Sionnach
Your work is gorgeous!
I would like to him. Aldous Fante. I love to combine the names of favorite
authors. What can I say? I’m a nerd. hahhaa.
I just watched The Man in the Iron Mask so I’m digging the name Philippe Aramis.
That is a pretty locket, I love it!
How pretty. I think I’d go with something dashing like Fox Colderidge ๐
Jack the Fox
Mr. Aureliano, the fox ๐
Hi Sarah,
If at all possible i would like to buy a copy of the photo you took of Claire on Gulliver with the rainbow colour reflections,I sent a message to a hotmail account a while ago not sure if its you ,
Kind Regards
Victoria
What a fun contest and lovely giveaway! Sir Duncan Foxalot is my pick.
What about Matthew? Just like the actor Matthew Fox ^^
This locket is adorable! Thanks a lot!
Federick The Fox.
I think he should be named Prince Reynard after the medieval folk hero who was a red fox.
I’m gonna call him Tommy. My boyfriend’s parents have a family of foxes in their neighborhood, and I named the Dad Tommy. So, I think that’s the perfect name for a fox! ^_^
Joe (F.O.X) since “You’ve got mail ” is still my favourite movie of all time! My own last name (in Dutch) means “fox” so I would love to win this locket! I follow your blog, and it’s the quality that counts, not the quantity of the updates!
i think that this adorable fellow should be named something simple, like peter.
have a lovely time in vermont!
I love it! Your pictures are great!
How about Henry….
A chance to win a fox locket?
Yes please ๐
I would like to call him Mister Bartholomew Fox, simply because I like that name very much (and it sounds like someone a tiny bit sneaky, just the way a fox can be)
I would name him Mr.Darcy, i think it suits his character and personality ^o^
Hello, I just discovered your etsy shop and your art is wonderful!
I would love a chance to win this locket, and I would like to name him Jensen.
Thanks!
What a breathtaking locket! I would name Mr. Fox…..Hubert.
I would name the adorable fox Fin.
xoxo
I’d love to win him!
such a sweet fellow, maybe Forest.
his name should be Beauregard Fitzhugh.
I think that you should name him Zorro Tranquilo (Calm Fox in Spanish) Thanks!
