i think i am in love with that painting
Wonderful! Sarah, I’m not sure if you’ve ever visited Somerville, NJ, before but it’s a nice little town full of antique shops and great restaurants. There’s one antique shop in particular on Main Street that has a terrific selection of vintage photographs at good prices. I bought two sepia toned photos there a few weeks ago. One is of a mysterious woman wearing the most fabulous outfit. The other is of a young woman who looks as though she is about to laugh. There’s so much personality on both the portraits.
PS: I gotta tell you that YOU inspired me to make paint swatches on boards – like the one in this post. You showed another in a previous post and I thought that was such a great, useful idea.
She is lovely ! And who doesn’t love a botanist ?
Also I adore this lace !

thanks Susanna! Yes, I absolutely cant paint a thing without my value scales. I just need to know what a color will do when I add varying amounts of white:)
