Festival Pics!

Had a fun time at Spoutwood Faerie Fest this year. Spoutwood farm is an organic farm in PA which hosts the festival, along with other happenings. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday. Relaxed in the grass and admired the costumes and the music. We came to the conclusion “we should do this more at home!” so we have tea party plans next weekend, BYOB (bring your own bonnet).
Dusty Shoes… and we stepped in pretty poison ivy SOOOO many times! The field where we parked was COVERED in it! A few red bumps but thats about it.

The whimsical flyer:

Faerie Magazine was there too. They had this awesome faerie house sitting on the table at their booth, made from a hollowed out tree stump.

Rolling hills were the backdrop to the festival. Breathtaking. Someone had sculpted some cute spotted mushrooms too.

How cute is this little wagon/gypsy cart!!! The children were mesmerized.

They had some fun folk music that Cherie LOVED. As you can see, I think she had a crush on the singer. Here she is wearing my elf ears. AWWWW!

decorated branches and a crystal gazing ball by the brook:

I love Rachel’s wings!!!

I was trying to fly, pic taken by Rachael:

~*~*Blissful vintage finds… COLOR!!!

I’ve been yard sale-ing and thrift shopping a lot recently. Finding LOTS of treasures, most are in my studio. They have been my inspiration! Big bold prints in bright summer colors make me want to fast forward to summer.
Last week I found a fab bright orange/ pink 60’s coat with a HUGE collar. Picture in front of my poppy painting…

A vintage-inspired apron, this one is new but was bought in a thrift shop! I love the pink print. I’ll wear this when I paint.

My new apron…

This is a page in an old how-to paint book from the 70’s. I just love the colors and the little red bird.

Eye candy….my plastic button collection! I occasionally embellish my DIY clothes with these beauties.

I got all these dolls at a sale last year. They are SO tattered hair matted and faces torn but there’s something so magical about them. And I love their outfits!

Pile O’ Vintage stuff. I especially like the 40’s gal on the watercolor book.

Muse bag

No, this one is not a faerie, but a muse to inspire all kinds of creative writing for

A super plushy soft velvety messenger bag to tote writing supplies and secret diaries.

LOTS of detail on the inside!!! Dragonfly applique on pocket, a pretty batiked plum purple lining and peacock feather patches:

OK, sewing machines down (again). This weeekend I travel to the Faerie Festival in PA, hooray! I’m off to go glue orchid blossoms on my pointy boots…..haha!
